  6. Greetings!!!
  7.  
  8. Welcome to my most stupendous collection of C64 music! In this collection
  9. you'll find every single piece of PSID that can be found in my collection,
  10. just in case any of you people had missed out on the other packs that are
  11. floating around. As I began work on this madness, people started to show
  12. more and more interest in this project, as many had not gotten some of
  13. these packs/didn't feel bothered to get them/were too blind to spot them ;)
  14. But anyway, most of all, people really wished to get the whole lot in one
  15. nice go! :-) So I tried to sit down to do something about it... 
  16.  
  17. I DID do a major cleaning throughout most of the collection to correct and/or
  18. identify the composers of the songs... Some are therefore in different drawers
  19. to what others might think... And duplicates were taken and dumped right away!
  20. (in worst cases, there were 4 copies of the same PSID but in a different rip
  21. each time, with a different name each time :-P I hate that...)

  23. But now, on brighter note, I have finished this (kinda... ;) and am therefore
  24. releasing this now, so all of you can enjoy this, and so you Ozzies can grab
  25. this lot before the FTP charges are cranked sky-high :( (Hi Sumaleth & Arkay)

  27. All the tunes found in my collection were taken from:
  28. * PlaySID v2.0ß, v2.1, v2.2, v3.0, (lots of people are missing the v2 ones)
  29. * 2*1.4mb .zip archive a friend of mine found on some PC site,
  30. * a .DMS file I found on ftp.funet.fi (Frantic c64 music show),
  31. * Ultimate C64 collection #4 by Deadbeat/The Sharks C64 (where are the others?)
  32. * Ripp Off 1-4 by Jan 'Rambones' 'Diabelez' Harries, (he fixed some songs :)
  33. * 2 PSID .lha's put on Aminet in Oct/Nov by Guido Gouweloos
  34. * Foxx1.lha (found on funet) compiled by Foxx (hiya dude! :)
  35. * 2 songs by Andreas Spreen spread as Andi-Music (or something like that...)

  37. =>A total of 'only' 1952 PSIDs :)  (Actually 2042, but I've killed 90 PSIDs in
  38. a cleaning trip I did...)

  40. About my List, and the filenotes:
  41. In some lines in the Author/Comment field, I have put ???  or (?) which means I
  42. either have no idea who did it or am not too certain.  Extra info about these
  43. would be greatly appreciated.  #rk = Raster Killers (68000 chokes on these :(
  44. (not sure I found them all as I didn't have time to check all the songs :-P
  45. >>>PSID.blablabl means I found another copy of the same song by different name.
  46. It might be useful to you and it might not... definetily not if its one of
  47. those >>>PSID.songname-xx (xx=number) as these are totally out of whack of any
  48. other numbering system (except my own ;)

  52. snailmail them to me!
  53. Also: If you know who did some of these songs that have no composer info,
  54. then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know right away!!! I'll add all extra
  55. infos in a text file in (hopefully) upcoming add-on packs :)

  57. How to play these songs:
  58. There are now quite a few players supporting PlaySID, so the choice is yours!
  59. Delitracker II v2.07+, EaglePlayer 1.53+, APlayer (1.0 supports only
  60. .info+data booooo :( , Hippoplayer (erm.. v1.67 ? gee dunno really :) and
  61. of course everybodies favorite: PlaySID (v3.0 is the current version).
  62. For PC dudes, there is a PSID player which is written for SoundBlaster,
  63. but I can't remember its name, sorry!

  65. The Future:
  66. The idea is to release add-on packs as soon as I've been flooded with all the
  67. songs people have been "promising" to send me, or simply when I've gotten enough
  68. songs to deserve an add-on pack :)   (so you can allready tune-in and wait for
  69. NemeSIDs-16.lha and up ;)  But since it's X-Mas at the moment, I really can't
  70. blame people for being lazy ;) But if you do any c64 music ripping, then please
  71. send me a copy of all you've grabbed, so I can include them in everybodies
  72. favorite PSID pack ;) (besides that, it's always nice to have all in one place,
  73. using same/similar setup, so there won't be any problems about missing out on
  74. more cool C64 songs B-)

  76. Spreading:
  77. Across the Universe.... But at minimum payment, this is freeware, or
  78. share-ware (share and enjoy ,) That means you are NOT allowed to charge
  79. $100 for a copy of each file, only the uttermost minimum, PLEASE! (see
  80. Fred Fish guidelines... (even that is almost too much...)). And this readme
  81. must ALWAYS be included!!! That isn't too much to ask for is it ?

  124. is the one to spread this collection with my blessings...  and I'm not that hard
  125. to deal with :) So how about it ???  It's not that much to ask for...  I just
  126. don't won't people to be making big $$$ for spreading this to some poor
  127. unfortunate / unsuspecting suckers...  (and no, I don't want to make big $$$
  128. either, it's kinda against my morals) (but I won't say no to unwanted A4000s,
  129. P90s, $1000000 checks etc... if you insist ;)

  134. If your computer starts making funny noises, and starts emitting funny coloured
  135. smoke while using any of the files included in this collection, then don't
  136. call/blame me...  I havn't programmed & included any devious virus in this
  137. collection (except for the love of C64 music, which should spread like wildfire ;)
  138. And I havn't sent any psychic bombs to your computer...  Instead try asking that
  139. gremlin sitting beside you...  (what gremlin ?  you don't see him ?  hmmm... :)
  140. Anyway, the funny noise is probably PlaySID playing C64 music, and you're
  141. hearing it for the first time in your life >8)
